One day into this summer’s 95-plus degree heat wave, our 23-year old TRANE heat pump stopped working. A minor repair got it going again, but we saw it as a sign that now was time to replace the aging system.
Our number one priority was to find a local service provider who sold TRANE units. We selected Able Heating & Air and couldn’t be more pleased with our choice. They sell quality products and back them up with superb service and installation work. Neil met with us, performed a detailed analysis, and offered a package that would not only replace our existing system, but also solve nagging hotspot problems we had been struggling with for years. This involved replacing the primary heat pump and adding a mini-split unit to address the hotspot issue.
First came the mini-split. Joe completed the installation in two days. He was meticulous in every aspect of the procedure and the resulting improvement was immediate. Shortly after, Mike and Greg followed up with replacement of the primary heat pump. The results were nothing less than amazing. Even though the ensuing month was the hottest in memory, our electric bill actually dropped substantially from the same month last year and the temperature level of every area remained cool and constant.
The best part of the project was the follow-up service provided by Greg’s team. Remember that this was our primary consideration when selecting a HVAC company. We were not disappointed. As with any retrofit, adjustments were expected. Ours was no exception in that an air duct needed to be modified. Mike and Mark did an expert job of making and installing the needed connection. The result was professional..
We look forward to many years of a perfectly functioning system with continuing service by the staff of Able Heating & Air. They have earned our highest rating and recommendation.

“I came home at night to find my ac not working, wasn’t even running. Of course this happened on the hottest day, 97 during the day, and it was close to 80 degrees in my home. So I called Able, who my family has been using for quite some time, around 5-6pm. I spoke with a representative who took my info and told me I’d get a call back once he passed my info on to the team in the morning, which was of course understandable. However I received a call from the owner, maybe 30 minutes later, who said he would head over to take a look and try to get it up and running that night, for a very reasonable service charge. He came over and diagnosed the problem very quickly, fixed it on the spot, again for a reasonable charge. After that my ac turned right back on and have had no issues since.
TLDR: Quick, reliable service, reasonable prices, good communication and customer service. Highly recommend!”

Jason and Tristan installed and thoroughly checked the new system. Everything was accomplished from the maintenance inspection to the final installation within 5 days. Able personnel was extremely knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. They cleaned up all debris and all wore booties in the house to minimize dirt and dust. Pricing was very reasonable also. “Our heat pump air handler started having trouble working, and totally stopped working yesterday. We were afraid that we had major repair issues. Matt Johnson, the Able Heating & Air service technician, came out and inspected our entire system. He got it working by cleaning the dehumidifier drain tube, showed me how to clean it, and explained how it could cause the air handler to stop working if it gets clogged up. He also showed me photos from inside the unit. It was very dirty. He said that it needed cleaning and that we may want to consider having it done in the near future. I asked him to please do it today, which he did. Matt did a great job, was very courteous, and answered all of my questions. I was going to clean-up around the air handler after he left, but he cleaned it all up himself. The house has already cooled back down.”

“We were having issues with our AC so we reached to several AC professionals in the area. First was a Dynamic heating an Air (do not contact do not use ever in my opinion), Second was Able heating and air, and third I.C.E Heating and cooling. Vendors two and three were highly competitive and professional and you couldn’t go wrong with either one. We chose Able even though they were higher in price than the competition. Our choice was made in part to Neils candor, the way he interacted with my wife directly, and not only saying there was an issue but providing facts and detailed pics. The first vendor flat out lied and I have the pics to prove it. Neil was able to do an emergency temp repair (at no additional cost) while we shopped around for additional quotes. In this day and age how a company treats your family when your not there is important. But wait (like the infomercials) there is more. The techs who performed the install were top notch, kept me informed of their progress, cleaned up after themselves, and pointed out some critical plumbing issue. My washer was draining to ground in my crawlspace. I am never under the house so I doubt I would have ever caught these critical issues. So yes I paid more but I am extremely happy all the way around, There is a lot of information out there and it is easy to get overloaded with details Able Heating and Air made it a painless replacement with a Trane unit.”
